Suggestions for organizing chars?
« on: November 04, 2009, 09:31:22 AM »
I have 1264 characters in my roster now. They're all in individual folders within the chars folder.

I am planning on organizing them into categories, any suggestions on how to organize them?

Obviously I could just organize them by game/genre but I'm just curious if anyone has any different methods.

For those who are curious, yes I am gone and I don't intend to be back soon. I never formally said goodbye to you all, because that always becomes a forum stink. However, to my friends here, I wish you the best. Perhaps I'll be back one day but for now this is goodbye.

I think mine will be in between. More depth than good/evil but less folders than Fredgerd's

I may do the following:

Marvel
DC
Other Comics
Mortal Kombat
Street Fighter
Other Capcom
SNK
Anime
Cartoons
Cartoon Games
Bonus Games
Other Games
High Res
Originals

oh you meant folders I thought you meant on the select screen. I keep all my characters in the same folder.

Well, yes... ultimately the point in me organizing them into folders is so that I can then arrange them accordingly in my game so all the char types will be together. Also easier to see what you have/need

I would keep with the theme you posted, that looks like a good method to organizing them to me, I would add an Image folder for future characters ;) other then that I think you got it covered. Oh and a Nude Folder.

I don't do the nude chars too much other than the interactive ones and the chick in the tank.

I just downloaded the nude game "Queens of Fighting". Havn't even unzipped it yet, figure it might come in handy for sprite work though.

As for my organization, I've decided to filter and organize my chars by game. Much easier to do it this way and also easier to see which chars I still need.

Mainly, it's going to help me get rid of crap chars (chibi, etc.) that I may have.

After I'm done, I will be posting a NEEDS list of the chars I need for each game.

Yeah that game has been around for a while. Its one of the first ones that my friend download back in 2005 I think. or 6 something like that. I ripped that crap apart and just keep a folder for the characters under QOF and havent used them since.

Trust me with all the new crap you wont need them. A La Ko stripping etc.
