Using Zipped Characters
« on: January 13, 2010, 01:07:33 PM »
I stumbled upon this tutorial on how to use zipped characters.

http://shinchoujin.50webs.com/mugen/zip_e.htm

However I can't get it to work. :/
Can anyone help me?

Your late. Yes it is a plugin.

been out for a long time. i think mugen comes with it but I never tried it.

I have a plugin called vbuzip10.dll which may be it but there is no discriptions.
This is something I would be careful on though cause I found one called vbzip10.dll thats spyware. Most spyware is named after actual windows files or a variation of that way it passes through undetected.

Okay, I have the plugin stated above and it seems like more trouble than its worth.
Ive tried it different ways and either the character doesnt pop up in the select screen or mugen says that the character can not be found.

I think its working somewhat though cause mugen starts but it just cant read the .def file.
Im gonna try .rars real quick again.

 :D'OH:

Figured out what my problem was. haha.

Plugin is BT Approved!

Scanned with AVG Antivirus: Check OK
Scanned with Malwarebytes Antispyware: Check OK

Just do exactly like it says up there. And dont forget to make a backup of the old file. Never save over.

uhh.

I did it and it didn't work.

What specifically did you do?

I did this:
1. Out old .dll in folder
2. Put new .dll in main MUGEN folder as replacement
3. took all chars files out and .rar'd them.
4. Used w.rar as .def is called w.def
5. Put w.rar in select file.
Nothing.

And Zip just gives me error messages.
Rars don't show up on the select screen i just get a blank.

Ever play an emulator before?

The program wont read .rar files you have to use compression zip.
I wish you could do rar though. much better compression.

Oh. I've been using WinRAR for all compression.
I guess I'll get 7-Zip now.
