trouble with fightor factory and portrait swaps
« on: July 23, 2009, 08:58:46 PM »
had trouble with a couple characters with regard to changing portraits.

with Punisher, I just can't access his sprites for some reason. when I open his def it says division by zero.

savage hulk when I swap out his portrait for any of shulbockas it gives me an error message. he runs fine if I don't change the portrait but if I do mugen crashes.
I don't think it's the portraits cus I've tried all of them on Aceys hulk and it worked fine.

edit: I also can't access strong guy's sprites.

For those who are curious, yes I am gone and I don't intend to be back soon. I never formally said goodbye to you all, because that always becomes a forum stink. However, to my friends here, I wish you the best. Perhaps I'll be back one day but for now this is goodbye.

Are you serious that has never happened to me and I change the portrait for those three characters. You are using the Fighting Factory correct not the Fighting Factory ultimate. I have the Fighting Factory portable which requires no installation. the only problem I had with a character like that was Martian Manhunter.

It sounds like you got and OS problem to me, Is your OS up to date? If not try updating it with the microsoft windows updater and then reinstall FF. I also have never come across this error. This post along with the other Punisher post you made, lead to now believe that you have and OS error. Try using another virus scan also, cause sometimes stuff get through even when you have a virus scan, cause thats what happened to me. There is no such thing as a perfect anti-virus program, thats why they all have to update everyday now. Shyts gettin outta control now a days. I hope you get it sorted out.

would using fighter factory ultimate possibly have something to do with it to??

No don't think so, i had this error (the one that won't let you access the sprites) for a few characters too with the normal ff. But not with strong guy and co, i believe the last one was the blanka from imt but i redownloaded it after it was update and now i can access the sprites.

aa250 says he's never had that problem though so it can't be the character.

If you want I could send you the Fighting Factory portable version and see if that fixes the problem. :)

If you ever have problems accessing a characters sprites you can always open the .sff file directly from the very top level options cause sometimes when trying to open a character with their .def file it can cause an error, the option at the top to use is "Sprites" and then choose the file you want to edit, its the same way you access sprites for a SP cause it has no .def file to load the sprites for you. Hope that helps.
