Sprite/Pallette Question
« on: August 19, 2009, 08:25:19 PM »
Alright, this may be a dumb question, but I figured I'd ask. Alright I am working with Rogue's Sprites (Ripped by Kong) for a project, and it is growing tiresome dealing with the color scheme of her outfit for each sprite, Green/White. What is the quickest way to convert her over to a color scheme where the White is more of a Yellow (like X-Men vs Street Fighter). Like I said, dumb question, but working with Yellow is easier than working with White which has transparency issues, plus it is a pain to recolor. Also I am using the Kong Sprite Pack from his mediafire page.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions...

go get kong rogue.

(THE CHARECTER.)

open her in fighter factory.

go to pallette 4 (click auto apply pallete too).

go to Pallete -> save the current image.

then, go to sprites -> save all sprites as PCX.

done. other then that, no clue.

Well if you are using photoshop you can change the colors by going to image/mode/index color then image/mode/color table i suggest you write down the name of the colors ie one of your yellow shade's colors might be edf345. then key these into the colors you want to change after you've done this save the pallete, now when you open a rogue image simply switch to indexed mode and open the color table then load your pallete.*you may have to repeat the first process fir some sprites as some of here sprites may not have all the same number of colors in her pallete. I hope that helps some i know it may be bad or vague directions.

Thanks for the answers, can't quite get Whiplash's method to work (may be because I have FFU (Newest version of FF), and Chaos, yours looks even more tedious, but ultimately may be the method I have to choose....

Thanks mate, just a quick question, were you using the old Fighter Factory to do that? I have been trying to do that for the last couple hours, and could only get 1 sprite at a time...

yeah, never updated, I'm still just figuring out how to use the old one, so I don't to relearn things just yet.

Just as I was getting the old one figured out, they updated, now the palette tab is completely lost to me... as it was changed quite a bit...
