Help with Dragon Guy by -Syn-
« on: July 21, 2009, 06:33:36 PM »
What's up guys? I was just curious if there was a way where I could turn off Dragon Guy's movement tracers or whatever they're called. I play mugen on my xbox all the time, and I can't ever use Dragon Guy because he lags too much because of the tracers. If anyone knows how to do this, I would really appreciate it. That character is one of my favorites and I never get to use him. If not, maybe some help getting Dragonclaw to run better on my xbox too, since he lags like a son of a gun too.

I hate to sound like I don't know what character is what, but I don't know if I have Dragon Guy, but he sounds cool, anything with Dragon in it sounds cool to me.  :) I have literally thousands of characters that I have collected through the years so if you could tell me where to get this Dragon Guy I'll check him out for you and see what your taking about. Or could you maybe make a vid of what your taking about and then maybe it might jog my memory if I have him. Also there are so many same name characters now a days that its hard to know if you have the right one or not and you don't know if its been updated cause a lot of the characters I have have been updated through the years.

OFF TOPIC: Oh and nice to see you again my friend, I haven't heard from you in a minute, hows the SP coming along?

Sorry for leaving you hanging Youngdragun, this has been a long week for me, and I've only really been at my home to sleep and eat. Again, I'm really sorry about that. I totally value your help and advice, and wasn't intentionally not replying or anything like that. Anyways, that Dragon Guy character is one of the coolest versions of Guy I've ever played with and was made by Immortal Syn. Apparently he's been warehoused (whatever that means) according to Syn, but I got him off Syn's site in the downloads section, so...?? Anyways, I'll see if I can get him to appear in your possession, but I wouldn't want to get in trouble...

ps. The sp is going good by the way, thanks for asking. I'm having some trouble with the lifebars, but it's more of lack of ideas in a way than technical issues. There's a few of those too though, but nothing major.

I thought it was that Guy edit, I have him actually but I don't know where, I'll find it and I'll check it out, I know I never used him on my Xbox so I wouldn't know if he slows it up or not. I'll check it and post a reconfigure for you or PM you a converted copy I might post the code fix here as it might help others learn more about how coding works and they learn this way. Anyways glad to hear from you and I'll post the info when I get some time. right now I'm taking a break from working on my house and repairing multiple electronics for multiple people right now, I got 3 computers and 5 360's I'm working on right now so I've been a little busy. No worries mate about the lack of reply. I know everyone has a life outside of this forum other than V, J/K V  ;D, but yeah I ain't mad atcha. Well bro peace love and hair grease and I'll see ya around. Oh and if you need any other help you know I got your back homey. :)

OK I'm back, sorry I took so long, :) I found him and here's the fix. Open up the character folder and find the "combos.cns" file that is 13Kb in size and open it with wordpad and find this section of coding:

;-------------------------------------
;Shadow effect, YES AFTERIMAGES! -_-'
;-------------------------------------
[State -2]
type = AfterImage
triggerall = stateno = 0 && time = 1
trigger1 = time = 1
time = -1
PalBright =  0,0,0
PalContrast = 120,120,220
PalAdd = 0,0,0
PalMul = .77,.77,.77
trans = add
TimeGap = 1
FrameGap = 1

It should be the second section of coding once its opened and place a semicolon ( ; ) in front of each line of code to nullify the after image that is constantly enabled. ( Just some FYI, any coding placed in the statedef  -2 portion are always enabled, this is how they make characters like orochi whatever have that annoying aura around them all the time  and like the constant flashing of other characters, like Rare Akuma, you can place anything you like here to always have that particular option enabled all the time. ) Once you have altered the code It should look like this when you finish:

;-------------------------------------
;Shadow effect, YES AFTERIMAGES! -_-'
;-------------------------------------
;[State -2]
;type = AfterImage
;triggerall = stateno = 0 && time = 1
;trigger1 = time = 1
;time = -1
;PalBright =  0,0,0
;PalContrast = 120,120,220
;PalAdd = 0,0,0
;PalMul = .77,.77,.77
;trans = add
;TimeGap = 1
;FrameGap = 1

And that will take care of that pesky afterimage, screen slowing, statedef -2, coding. Peace. :)

Thanks for the help man, you're awesome. It just blows my mind how it's usually an easy fix for stuff like that, and yet I can NEVER figure it out. I guess if I knew coding more, that might help. I still got a ways to go though I guess. I'm going to give this a shot right now though, and I'll let you know if I do it right. Thanks again for the help.
