Etrigan's Hyper chain command
« on: June 12, 2009, 12:38:47 PM »
So I wanted to do a review on him, but I could not get his chained hyper to work.

Any tips on pulling that off and/or can someone tell me how to alter the command in the .cmd file, as it is listed as something else.

Basically, you pull of the start move and then something pops up on the screen and your supposed to follow what it says. Well, I tried that and couldn't get it to work.

So I thought about editing it, but you can't edit the pop up portion (at least not like normal commands in mugen characters)

i think the idea was to make it as hard as possible for it to not to be a regular move you could use during the fight , altought i've done it a lot of times in training mode during a fight it is really hard (try to  pause the game once in training mode so that you can see how the command goes)Otherwise if you really want to change it  in the .cmd,
this is what you need to change:

change what I have highlighted  for your own command for example back for the first highlight , down for the second highlight , forward for the third , and so on ...
this is the easiest way to change it don't forget to delete forward from the list that don't trigger the command , if you need more precisions don't hesitate to ask

So the only option is to replace them with something else that might be easier?

I think I wanted to shorten it immensely as that might be part of the problem for me.

that is the easiest option not the only one..
if you don't change it this way the other way is not to push any button if you prefer this choice then this is what you have to do for every demonic command change the trigger:

for example this :

[State 1000, 7]
type = Changestate
trigger1 = command = "holdup"
ctrl = 1
value = 3251

becomes this:

[State 1000, 7]
type = Changestate
trigger1 = Time=0
ctrl = 1
value = 3251

I think this could work , what you would be doing is telling no command is needed to look for the next state , each state is charged of calling an explod ( to make it simple the explod calls the animation of the button displayed in the screen ).Otherwise he expects a command before changing the state

So apparently the latter is not an option as after the knockdown plus fire portion, nothing else happens after that.

I guess I might attempt the other version, so I can alter it to just have button presses? I think the directional moves are messing me up with it.

What is it exactly you want to do? Do you want the character to do all actions with one motion and button hit like a Shoryuken  for  Ryu. Or do you want it to just be a combination of specail move plus multiple button press for all other actions?
