New Ideas for Characters
« on: December 09, 2009, 12:51:21 PM »
This is my second time writing this. I have many ideas for MUGEN characters that i'd like to see done, but i have no skill on the level of programming or spriting, but after i seen the talents of many on here, i'd like to contribute my ideas on this forum for anybody to use, giving anybody who wants to my total permission to have full creative control, all i ask in return is that you host them here on CVG United. I will lay foundations for characters and then everybody who is interested will give feedback on how to improve my ideas or they can just try to make these images a reality. This is not a request; i'm just throwing out ideas.

Captain America (WWII)

I'm surprised nobody has felt the need for a WWII Cap, I originally came up with this idea after playing MvC2 on my Xbox 360. His programming would be based on Cable and the MSH Cap. He wouldn't be able to throw his shield, so programming time would be saved in that aspect.  His special moves would be as follows: (Key: QCF= Quarter Circle Forward or D,DF,F. QCB= Quarter Circle Back or D, DB, B.)

Colt .45 (Single Shot): QCF+X
Colt .45 (Double Tap): QCF+Y
Saw'd off Shotgun: QCF+Z

His basic projectiles would behave like Isaiah Bradley's Pistol, if not the same. The double tap is just two bullets fired, and the Sawed off Shotgun would be just 4 shots fired at once, that knocks over the opponent and only work at a short distance.

Flash bang: QCB+X
Hand Grenade: QCB+Y
Impact Grenade: QCB+Z

The flash bang grenade behaves like Cable’s shock grenade, except it does no damage and it doesn’t suspend people in the air. The hand grenade behaves like every other character’s grenade attack. The Impact Grenade behaves like the 2 other grenades, except there’s a catch, it stuns for less time than the Flash bang and it does less damage than the hand grenade.

Tommy Gun Burst (4 shots): QCF+A
M1 Grand Shot: QCF+B
Shield Charge: QCF+C

The Tommy Gun shoots 4 quick pistol shots that do damage equivalent to 2 pistol shots and a faster projectile. The M1 Grand shot does not have a projectile; it just connects and knocks over the opponent. It does damage equivalent to 5 pistol shots, the catch is it has a long recovery time (about 2 seconds). The Shield Charge is just MvC2 Shield Charge (QCF+HK).

Cartwheel Backwards: QCB+A
Cartwheel Forwards: QCB+B

The Cartwheels behave like MSH Cap’s cartwheel.

Super Combo’s:

Final Justice: QCF+ 2 Punches
Super Shield Charge: QCF+ 2 Kicks
Artillery: QCB+ 2 Kicks
Bullet Barrage: QCB+ 2 Punches

Final Justice and Super Shield Charge are just MvC2 Cap specials. Artillery is just Isaiah Bradley’s Missile Strike. The Bullet Barrage, however, is a re-sprite of MvC2 Jin’s special where he uses the robot to shoot up the opponent. This time, Cap calls in Nick Fury and his Howling Commandos to shoot up the opponent.

Remember this is to anybody who wants to use it. Just tell me if you like this and i'll post more.

This is a cool idea actually.

These are some I think would be excellent.

Inque from Batman Beyond
Darth Vader
Knuckles
For those who are curious, yes I am gone and I don't intend to be back soon. I never formally said goodbye to you all, because that always becomes a forum stink. However, to my friends here, I wish you the best. Perhaps I'll be back one day but for now this is goodbye.

Constrictor

Constrictor is from the incredible hulk #212. His real name is Frank Payne. He was a former S.H.I.E.L.D.  agent who went undercover as a snake-themed Supervillian, but suffered a nervous breakdown; becoming an actual supervillian. He wears a suit that allows two adamatium tentacles to emmit from his wrists and constrict his enemies. He would obviously be based off of Omerga Red. Also, some of his crouching moves could be based on Twelve's (from Street Fighter 3) tentacle moves that come from underground.

Specials:

Constrict: QCF+Punch
Short Range: X
Medium: Y
Long: Z

Tentacle Whip: QCF+Kick
Short: A
Medium: B
Long: C

The Constrict attack would just be like Omega Red's Drain technique except no health would be drained, just damge inflicted. The Whip would behave like a quick powerful attack, with range, however the recovery time should be long.

Tentacle Sling Shot: QCB+ Kick
Short (Powerful): A
Medium (Regular): B
Long (Weak): C

Spinning Deflect: QCB+ Kick+Punch

Tentacle Slam: QCF+K+P

The Tentacle slingshot is just like zVitor's Spiderman Web Slingshot, except the short the range, the more powerful the hit. The relation between damge and range is inversely proportional.  The spinning delfect works by Contrictor spins his tenacles like a propelor amd deflects Projectiles, but there is a slow recovery time. The tentacle slam just picks up the opponent and throws him over his head.

Super Combos:

Tantacle Slamming: QCF+ 2 Punches
Fury Swipes: QCF+ 2 Kicks
Tentacle Swing: QCF+ 2 Punches
Impale: QCF+2 Kicks

The Tentacle slam is quite simple, its just like the slam special move except Constrictor slams the opponent multiple times.  The Fury Swipes would work like Wolverine's Berseker Barrage special, except he's standing still and has a farther reach. The Tentacle Swing behaves like a super powerful MvC2 Colossus Swing Throw. The Impale would work like Twelve's Special from Street Fighter 3 where he uses his limbs to stab the opponent from below.

The Question (One that isn't a Sabertooth re-sprite)

Q is my favorite DC Comics hero, in his first appearence that is. He was an ethical universalist and he never comprimised with the utilitarian ideas of his comtemporaries, a true Platonic hero (rather than an Objectivist like he is interpreted to be). When I saw that he was available, i was immediately downloading him, but to my dismay i found out he is just a cheap resprite of my least favorite Marvel vs Capcom character Sabertooth. He even felt like a resprite, so you can imagine how i felt about it. So i thought i'd throw this out there and see if it stuck to anybody.

Tackle: Hold Back, Forward+ Punch

Sliding Tackle: Hold Back, Foward+ Kick

Fury Punches: QCF+ Punch

Gas Cloud: QCB+ Punch

Dart Pistol: QCF+ Kick

Since Q is a martial artist, he should have a stance of one, i'm thinking a taller Fei Long; though it is preferable to have him fight like Charlie. The tackle technique would behave the same as Cyclops' tackle without the delay. The Sliding kick would be an original move however if i must choose to compare it would sort of be like Dhalsim's slide kick; however it would start out running like Cyclops' tackle and go into a baseball slide kick. The Fury Punches would behave like Ralf's from KOF '98. The Gas Cloud is based on The Question calling card gadget that emits smoke when he throws them, this move would behave like Gambit's card throw. As for the Gas Pistol, Im just thinking that a gun motion would just be used to shoot the dart gun.

Hyper Combos:

Beat Down: QCF+ 2 Punches
Interrogate: QCF+ 2 Kicks
Double Whammy: QCF+ Punch+Kick

The Beat Down is just like Qs (Street Fighter 3) lunging punches hyper combo. The Interrogate shout just show Question grab the opponent, then the screen blackens as you hear him say Answer the Question and then the lights go on to reveal the opponent on the ground. The Double Whammy is just like Qs second special from SF3.

Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters

This team is full of some good characters with lots of potential.

Uncle Sam is great cause he's a powerhouse in a small frame, plus he's a size changer, and on top of it all his hat is an extra dimensional gateway to a rustic dimension known as the heartland. If you include alternate universes in his arsenal he even wielded a Green Lantern ring once, and during the civil war split into two becoming Billy Yank and Johnny Reb

In the gold and black is The Ray who can absorb and manipulate light including creating constructs out of it, and turning invisible. He also can turn into a literal ray of light. a form in which he is incredibly fast, and nigh invulnerable. For a hyper you can have him double team an enemy with his dad the elder Ray now known as Neon.

The darth vader guy in the back in all black is perhaps my favorite, the Human Bomb. This guy is just awesome, as his name implies he can explode, but in different ways. If he claps his hands together he can create concussive blasts. A piece of his fingernail is like a grenade, his sweat napalm, so many cool variations.

The guy in the goggles is Firebrand a martial arts student with a bo staff who can create and control fire. Nuff' said.

The woman in the back with the domino mask is Miss America, and her power is molecular transmutation, so the sky is the limit, and for a hyper you can have her upgrade like in the books into Miss Cosmos, with gives her energy projection as well.

The girl in the skimpy yellow suit is Phantom Lady. Her wristbands not only project light but can bend reality. She can transport people into, and I'm not making this up the Fourth Dimension!?!

The girl in the red armor is the Red Bee. She wears a mechanized battle suit allowing flight and augmented strength; uses two large robotic bees which fire electricity blasts. Then in the second miniseries she is mutated into an insect like form that gave her pheromone production, and the ability to "mark" people to track them.

The guy with the mohawk is Black Condor. He is an elemental of the sky and the earth, so he can fly control wind currents, create sandstorms, even cause smaller seismic events.

Last, but certainly not least is Doll Man. What you don't see him? Oh, if you squint at Firebrand's shoulder he standing just behind his head. His a former special ops soldier shrunk to six inches. Picture a GI Joe figurine that had tiny weapons with the proportionate abilities of their giant sized counterparts.

I'm not saying there all good for full characters, but there a nice change of pace to all the Big Name's of the DCU.

Star Sapphire is my favorite Lantern Corps villian

She is cool, beautiful and lethal.

Attacks

Violet Light: A violet ray (you know, like Zvitor's
John Stewart has) form the Violet Crystal she has on her crown

Sapphire Kiss: Inspired on Orochi Shermie from kof, a violet circle with the Violet Lanterns symbol that keeps the enemy inmovilized.

Specials

Violet Beam: I think i don't have to explain anything xD

Violet Rain: Based in Miss Marvel attack (that one she shots some rays from her fist) but this one comes form the Violet Crystal she has on her crown

Hypers

Violet Lanterns Star Beam: The same Violet Lanterns circle formed by Star Sapphire shots a powerful ray

That's all my imagination can do.

I hope someone takes the project and do it better than i do

I forgot to mention that all Star Sapphire's attacks come from the crystal on her crown ;)

I was thinking Storm would be a great base for star sapphire, but I'm too lazy to sprite it.

Also, I like:

Zoom:

NOT proffessor Zoom, Hunter Solomon

Atrocitus:

(old sprite)

or General Zod (Specificly this design):

(old Sprite)

and booster gold, ultraman, Owlman, T-ray, taskmaster....
