Just wondering peoples thoughts on these. I'll share my own thoughts which will hopefully get the ball rolling.
With beta testing, early on in my mugen time i figured out a pretty good pattern and thought process with some testing. I thought I could help contribute in that way in regards to feedback. I had asked someone about implementing it (a member here actually), but because I was so new to the community, that never went anywhere, and never really brought it up again to people.
Since then, I did a little bit of testing when asked, screenpack for Dragonesku and an unnamed character. Both times I thought I helped whoever, but it helped solidify that I'll never ask about doing such, and will just consider doing so when asked.
With incomplete characters, I'm a little strict there. I only care about characters that offer some sense of enjoyment either while playing or watching. This is also the case because I have a very limited hard drive on my computer, so have to pick carefully or there will be too much glout. An example of this is, I used to be semi okay with the incomplete Wonderman out there. But then the first time I saw that video of the new one by ZVitor, JasonTodd, and daraku, I thought screw this guy as he sucks compared to what might be coming soon.
So now, because of the small harddrive (have about 5 GB free) and thoughts on enjoyment, my most incomplete chars is The invisible woman by AngelicCharon. And some days I debate deleting her because of those thoughts. Needless to say, because of those limitations on the hard drive and general thoughts, I've never been someone that thinks needs whatever to fill out a roster, as its more than just having a roster to me. Its a balance between fun and hard drive space.
What do you all think about beta testing and incomplete chars?
