What instruments do you play
« on: August 16, 2009, 06:58:39 PM »
Rules: Any intruments go as long as your semi-competant. In addition to traditional intstruments, this includes voice, beatboxing and other body music, home made instruments like street drums and washtub basses and DJ scrathing. This does NOT include ability to use a stereo system  ;).

Heres my list
Electric Bass (my main instrument and the only one I'm truly competant on, but I'm ok on the rest)
Upright Bass
Violin
Piano
Ketuk
Saron
Kenong
Timbales

I wish I could sing but no  :(
For those who are curious, yes I am gone and I don't intend to be back soon. I never formally said goodbye to you all, because that always becomes a forum stink. However, to my friends here, I wish you the best. Perhaps I'll be back one day but for now this is goodbye.

Us artist are multi-talented to some extent.

Piano
Electric Piano
Guitar
Saxophone
Drums

My dads a DJ so I may have some turn table skills. I also can use various music programs to make music. Like Reason and Vocaloid (Somewhat).

Im not a fluent but I know if I want to learn a song I can learn it. I may be proficient with all instruments if I put my mind to it.

Does Guitar Hero and Rock Band count, because I am fairly good at all instruments on that game... ;D

Anyway, not as many instruments as you guys, but I can play:

Guitar - Main instrument, have 2 Electrics, 2 Acoustics, 1 - 12 String Acoustic....
Bass
Drums (on a more basic level)

Guitar hero how does NOT count  ;D.

;) can you PLAY bass or can you play guitar on a bass. (that is, do you play with your fingers and at least know how to play a walking line/ how to pop and slap)

Think he means string, wind or percussion instruments. Also Electronic devices for PC and Mixing machines such as turntables.

Something you would have to use musical notes to use. A, B, C, D, E, F, G Stair.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band only count for 4 step rhythm in my book.

I can play Bass, I just don't have one (my Dad has two, so when I go to jam at his house, we just trade up sometimes.) I am not actually sure what to classify as to how I play bass though. I only play bass like I said, when I go to visit my father, but I typically just play bass lines in what ever key we are playing something in...In the instances I don't know something we will pull up the tabs...But I know the standard scales and everything on base, but I am more of a guitar player than anything (trying to learn how to sing while I play right now...willing to take recommendations...lol)

If the vocal chords can be considered a string instrument, then I've got one on my list.  :)

Tenor with 2 octaves of range- or so my jazz vocalist aunt tells me.  She's really good.  So I've gone with her assessment over paying a professional to let me know.
Nothing special, but I love to use it.

Oddly enough, I wish I had a lower/raspier voice.  I'm into the extreme metals, so a vocalist with my range has little place in black, death or thrash metal.

meh you can do black metal with that range. Make sure to learn how first though cus it would suck to ruin your voice doing it the wrong way. Theres supposed to be a special way of doing it so that it doesn't damage your vocal chords.

So I've heard.  Thing is, I don't know anyone who could help me with altering my voice for black metal.  I'm hesitant to experiment, as it could mean damage to my voice if I go about It the wrong way.

I do not have the money to pay someone to teach me.
