Upcoming TV Series: V

V

ABC's 'V' - Upfront Trailer - with Elizabeth Mitchell

V is a remake of the 1983 TV Miniseries of the same name. It will be airing on ABC, though I haven't been able to find a premiere date, but the show looks good, and features a very good cast: Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost), aura Vandervoort (Smallville), Morena Baccarin (Firefly/Stargate SG1) among others. As long as ABC give the show a chance, I feel this could be something decent, but they like FOX have a history of giving up on shows quite early.

Now this is what I'm talking about. I just saw the trailer for District 9 today too, and this kind of reminds me of that. I already know this is going to be a really good show. Are they planning on only making it a mini series, or are they planning to expand on the story and make it a full blown show? I think it would be better if they just left it as a mini series myself.

They are simply calling it a remake of the original miniseries, but it will be expanded and likely different in some aspects, and if it takes off, will likely become a full blown show. The order when the show was signed was for 13 episodes though, so it is already technically a full blown show, but ratings would dictate if it goes the full 13 or if it is renewed...

With a story like this one though, I don't see how it could turn into a full blown show honestly. I wouldn't mind if it did or anything, I just don't see how the story could go on after so many episodes. I guess I'll just have to watch it and see for myself if it could. This one definitely looks cool though.

I see where you are coming from, but remember the original miniseries spawned another mini series and a full blown TV series that lasted a season, so you never know what the writers will/can come up with. I mean look at Smallville...I remember when that came on and I said...4 seasons...tops. Now it is going on it's 9th season...O.o

V, huh?  Uh huh...

Well, maybe it could work.  Maybe.

With special effects nowadays and new makeup techniques, they could probably pull it off.  Heck, the storyline for this new V could be crap, but it'll look pretty. ;)
