Paul Dini returns to Animated Batman on Brave & the Bold!
« on: June 01, 2009, 08:41:03 AM »
Paul Dini is back to writing Batman again on Brave and the Bold.

The Bat-Mite episode is great. Dini takes a shot at the shows critics by doing a Comicon sketch with Kevin Smith esque fans griping over the show being more light hearted, and then uses Bat-Mite to explain his opinion on the show.

Other great stuff in the episode as well. Bat Mite turns Batman into Vampire Batman, Bat-Hombre, DKR Batman, and others.

Dini's writing shines on Batman

Batman: Brave and the Bold: Batmite at the comic con! Bat Mite!

BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD Legends of the Dark Mite ( Bat-Mite ) Costumes

Batman: Brave and the Bold - Legends of the Dark Mite Batman's Imagination

Part 2/3 Batman: The Brave and the Bold S1 E19 - Legends of the Dark Mite! [HQ]

I dont mind this show being light-hearted  :) the movies and comics are enough dark stuff for me...I thought the comicon bit was hilarious  ;D the dude dressed as Harley Quinn was what killed me

I think the show captures a distinct side of Batman, and thats his roots. While still bringing us classic moments never before seen on the the Animated Series, and JLU.

The old fans griping has been really annoying in my opinion. Dini doing some episodes will give us fans of the show a little ammunition.

Batman. and JLU were great, but they never tackled Guy Gardner, Plastic Man, Batmite, or the Golden Age Flash, and other characters. Brave, and the bold embraces DC for all it's glory, and not just this so called "dark" box that a small group of fans have tried to paint the Universe into.

For those that truly read DC, you know that it's cheesey bygone era's and Golden Age fit right into that Darkness, it's not some hidden part of the past it's part of it in all it's glory.
