Robin - Legends of the Dark Knight version
« on: May 09, 2011, 11:47:12 AM »
Sorry for the delay, this shouldve been a Saturday release. I decided to fix a few issue to allow for a more dynamic palette. While it wasnt hard, it was time consuming.

He's been reprogramed to the Legends template, most of the specials, and hypers are replaced, or revamped, and re-organized.

All of the One Winged Angel coding, and gameplay has been redone. I think I only kept his air grab.

Thanks to Jason Todd for sprite updates, Jmaxximus for a new hyper, and AA250 for sorting out the code, and fixing bugs, and improving the character.

No doubt there will be some bugs since this is a revamp on new template. Many sprites still need improvement, but overall it's a vast improvement, and blueprint for the characters future in the Legends game.

UPDATE

I added REDZ recommended stance and did a damage adjustment on the batarangs.

Just a minor edit.

We'll address all the other bugs listed very soon.

Really nice. Although the up close Kid Flash sprites need some touching up (during one of his wins)

(NOTE: This is only showing the chars that I'm currently focused on. I haven't given up on any WIP ... except Strong Bad)

You guys may wanna re-download

There was a bug in the staff uppercut hyper. An invisible animation had a hitbox which I believe caused a clone.

At least I hope it's fixed.

Hey, nice job. Robin's needed a revamp for way too long. :)

But...
The animations for the hitsparks are way too slow. (BTW I like those. they're pretty.) I still see hitsparks 1-2 seconds after I hit anyone.
And whenever I do the swing move, when robin hits a wall he slides straight down to the floor.

His gameplay is better, the animations are doing great.

I just have a a few sugestions:

The birdrang, if you throw it from a mid-point, the fierce birdrang takes a huge amount of energy and hits 14 times because of this effect of going towards and back, it stays a long time hitting the oponent, and if I use this along with the swingkick, i can achieve about 19 hits without the oponent could even react.

My sugestion is that you could make the return movement of the birdrang faster than the advance and the hit animation working the same way, it hits the oponent and returns faster to Robin's hand, so it could be a different way from the Batman's batrang or my Batgirl, whose batrang falls on the floor.

The dropdown and Kstomp are great ideas, is faster and allows you to attack by surprise, but this move seens to work better on the air. I say that because when i use it, i feel like I could continue the attack with normal kicks or punchs or even a grab, you could try to explore these possibilities to this move, it would be a great addon to aerial combos, and make his gameplay more dynamic.

I liked a lot the fact you could easily link normal combos and moves or hypers, all of then works fine.

Other thing, and this is something i think should be agreed by everyone, is the fact that the combos do take a lot of energy, I can win with at least four aerial combos. We could try to do the fights endure a little bit more time, so we can enjoy the gameplay more.

Anyway, the work is doing great! W(- -)W W(- -)W
