Layout question for the community
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:46:39 PM »
so some of you may have seen some layout alterations today to the forum.

when looking at the main forum page...

do you prefer the recent posts on the sidebar with some tools underneath it, or do you like the current look with the recent posts where they are now on the forum page?

well, one thing that has been stated about the sidebar deal was lots of negative space when just the sidebar. so added some stuff to spruce it up, which lead to comments about more time to load.

while it could look a little better with the recent posts, can't change it due to current configuration.

do not let the spacing of the forum section titles play into this. that was an unforseen error involved with attempts at the forum icons.

this question was mainly about the layout config involved with the recent posts insertion.

Posts themselves look good to me but the thread title screen/menu screen with the titles all in the center look jacked cause the theme or layout has no seperation to the titles so it looks off and makes it hard for me to read. Be more specific on what you what feedback for cause I pay attention mainly to the menu layout then anything else. I don't like the new smilies either they were cool at first but I want the old ones back but with some added. With these new ones its hard to really express your mood.

yea, try and ignore the headers for forum sections right now as they got messed up by something spooky was trying. he's waiting right now on how to fix.

i was mainly referring to the recent posts section. for a time yesterday it was in the sidebar. i added some tools underneath it as there was just too much negative space.

this was then dropped in favor of the current look of the forum page with the recent posts at the bottom of the page. i wish could go above the info center, but it cannot. only places it can be are on the very bottom, or on the side (creating a ton of negative unless tools are used underneath)

the problem though with that format, is can take longer to load the page.

so that was the main question, what layout with the recent posts tool on the forum main page. i personally prefer it how it is, but if anyone was in love with the sidebar look from yesterday (or the day before whenever it was) we were willing to listen.

given no comments, guessing its not an issue.
